The town has changed a great deal in recent years. La Carihuela, the old fishing quarter at the western end, is the part most of our couples fall for: low white buildings, a long seafront walk and a run of chiringuitos serving fish straight off the grill.

Getting here
Málaga airport is fifteen minutes by car. The Cercanías C1 train reaches Torremolinos from the airport in about twelve minutes and runs every twenty minutes, which is the shortest and simplest arrival anywhere on this coast.
Taxis are readily available, unlike further west, so guests who arrive late are not stranded.
When to marry here
May, June, September and October are the most comfortable and considerably quieter. July and August are busy, which affects the town rather than the wedding.
The beach here faces south and gets full sun through the middle of the day, so shade for the drinks reception is worth planning properly.
Good to know
Public beach ceremonies need town hall permission. Beach clubs and hotel terraces avoid it.
Because the airport is so close, some venues sit under flight paths. It is rarely disruptive but worth checking if you are having an unamplified ceremony.
The seafront is busy in summer. Early morning is the time for photographs on an empty beach.
