Bring more joy and laughter to your special event with Swish Soirées. Let's make every moment unforgettable.
Why get married in Fuengirola?
Fuengirola is the most practical town on the Costa del Sol for guests flying in: a direct train from the airport, seven kilometres of beach and accommodation at every price point.
- Direct Cercanías train from Málaga airport in around thirty five minutes
- Accommodation at every budget within walking distance of the seafront
- Sohail Castle, a tenth century fortress above the river mouth
- Guests can arrive and move around without hire cars or transfers
- Long promenade and beach clubs the length of the town
- Quieter and cheaper outside July and August
Wedding Venues in Fuengirola
Fuengirola is not the prettiest town on this coast and it does not pretend to be. What it is, is easy. Seven kilometres of beach, a promenade you can walk end to end, hotels at every price point, and a train station with a direct line to Málaga airport.
For a wedding where most of your guests are flying in, that combination is worth more than charm. People can get themselves here, stay within budget, and walk to dinner.
Why couples choose Fuengirola
Guest logistics, mostly. The direct train from the airport takes around thirty five minutes and runs every twenty minutes, so nobody is stranded and nobody needs a hire car. That alone removes a large part of the stress of a destination wedding.
Accommodation is the other reason. There is genuinely something at every price point within a short walk of the seafront, which means your university friends and your parents can both stay near the venue without either feeling awkward about it.
Sohail Castle sits at the western end of the town, a tenth century fortress above the river mouth with the sea on one side and the hills on the other. It is the most distinctive setting in Fuengirola by some margin.
Getting here
The Cercanías C1 train line runs from Málaga airport to Fuengirola in about thirty five minutes, terminating in the town centre. It is cheap, frequent and by far the simplest arrival for guests coming independently.
By car the airport is around twenty five minutes. Taxis are plentiful, unlike in the smaller towns further west.
When to marry here
Fuengirola is busy in July and August, which affects accommodation prices and the feel of the town rather than the wedding itself. May, June, September and October are calmer and cheaper.
The beachfront catches a breeze most afternoons, welcome in summer and worth planning for if you want an outdoor ceremony without amplification.
Good to know
Beach ceremonies on public sand require town hall permission. Beach clubs and hotel terraces avoid the paperwork entirely.
The town is at its busiest in high summer, so if you want photographs on an empty promenade, plan them early in the morning.
Because so many guests will travel independently by train, send clear instructions with the invitation. It saves a dozen messages the week before.

The venue looked even more beautiful than we imagined, and every supplier was exceptional. Our family still talks about how magical the whole day was. Thank you for making our dream wedding a reality.
We couldn't have asked for a better wedding planning experience. Every recommendation was perfect, communication was excellent and everything ran exactly as planned on the day. We were able to relax and enjoy every minute with our family and friends, knowing everything was being taken care of behind the scenes. It was simply unforgettable.
Our wedding on the Costa del Sol was everything we'd hoped it would be. Every little detail reflected us as a couple, and the whole day felt relaxed, elegant and full of joy. We never imagined planning a destination wedding could be so straightforward. The support we received throughout the process gave us complete confidence, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.
Choosing Swish Soirées was one of the best decisions we made. From helping us find the perfect venue to coordinating our suppliers and managing the wedding day itself, everything was organised so professionally. We didn't have to worry about a single thing, which meant we could simply enjoy every moment with the people we love. We would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in Spain.
Getting married in Spain had always been our dream, and it exceeded every expectation. The attention to detail was outstanding, and the entire celebration felt effortless. Our guests described it as the best wedding they'd ever attended, and we couldn't agree more.
We honestly couldn't have wished for a better experience. When the day arrived, everything was exactly as we'd imagined and the whole day flowed effortlessly. If you're thinking of getting married in Spain, we can't recommend this team highly enough.

Weddings in Fuengirola
Is there a train from Málaga airport to Fuengirola?

Yes. The Cercanías C1 line runs direct from the airport to Fuengirola in around thirty five minutes, every twenty minutes or so. It is the easiest arrival of any town on this coast and means guests do not need hire cars or transfers.
Can we marry at Sohail Castle?
+
The castle hosts events and is the most striking setting in Fuengirola, a tenth century fortress above the river mouth with sea and hill views. Availability and terms vary by season, so it is worth asking early.
Is Fuengirola good for guests on a budget?
+
It is the best town on the Costa del Sol for it. Accommodation runs from simple apartments to four star hotels within walking distance of the seafront, so guests can choose what suits them without being far from everyone else.
