Finca La Concepción
Finca La Concepción, Marbella
Finca La Concepción is a historic estate in the hills just above Marbella, on the road to Istán. It is about five minutes from the town centre and four from Puerto Banús. A restored manor house sits among tropical gardens, century-old trees, palms and fountains, and La Concha mountain rises behind.
What sets it apart is its history. In the 19th century the site was part of an ironworks, where ore from the nearby mines was smelted, and the brick ruins of the old works still stand at the edge of the gardens. Couples can marry in front of those ivy-covered walls, then move to the gardens and pool lawn for drinks, dinner and dancing. The venue holds one wedding per day.
The spaces
The Ruins
The ivy-covered brick walls of the old ironworks, with a vine pergola and a wide open floor for a ceremony or a dramatic dinner.
The Main Gardens
Lawns, palms and century-old trees in front of the manor house, for a classic garden ceremony or a long-table dinner.
The Fountain Avenue
A paved avenue with a central fountain leading up to the house, lovely for an aisle, lounge areas or evening lanterns.
Cortijo La Concepción
The restored whitewashed manor house with blue trim, draped in bougainvillea and ivy, the backdrop to many of the photographs.
The Conchita Pool Area
A pool lawn with palms and banana plants and views of La Concha, ideal for welcome drinks and canapés.
The Garden Gazebo
A bougainvillea-covered gazebo tucked into the gardens, for a smaller ceremony or a quiet corner for photographs.
A ceremony among the ironworks ruins
The estate takes its name from La Concepción, the ironworks company founded by Málaga industrialist Manuel Agustín Heredia in the 1820s. In 1832 it built what is described as the first charcoal-fired blast furnace for non-military use in Spain (Wikipedia).
Today the red-brick walls are softened by ivy, fig trees and a vine pergola, and the ground in front of them makes a striking ceremony space for large numbers. In some angles you can see the motorway viaduct in the distance beyond the ruins, so we brief your photographer on the best framing. After the ceremony, guests walk through to the gardens for drinks.

Common questions about Finca La Concepción
Where can we hold the ceremony?
+
Among the 19th-century ironworks ruins, on the main lawn in front of the manor house, by the fountain, at the garden gazebo or beside the Conchita pool. The ruins are the most dramatic setting, and the gardens in front of the house are the most classic.
How many guests can Finca La Concepción hold?
+
From 50 guests, with a surcharge if you are under the minimum. Bodas.net lists a range of 50 to 1,000 guests, so it suits everything from an intimate wedding to a very large celebration. We confirm the right layout for your numbers.
Is it exclusive use?
+
Yes. The venue holds one event per day, so the gardens, ruins and pool area are yours for the day (Bodas.net).
What time does the wedding have to finish?
+
Events at Finca La Concepción must end by midnight (Bodas.net). We plan the timings around that, starting the ceremony earlier in the evening, and can arrange an after-party at a bar or club in Marbella or Puerto Banús.
Who does the catering?
+
The venue has a kitchen for caterers to use and works with approved caterers rather than one in-house team. Menus start from around €150 per guest (Bodas.net). We help you choose the caterer and menu.
How much does a wedding at Finca La Concepción cost?

Can guests stay at the venue?
+
No, there is no accommodation on site. The estate is about five minutes from central Marbella and four from Puerto Banús, so guests have a wide choice of hotels and villas nearby, and we arrange the transport.
Can we get legally married at Finca La Concepción?
