Wedding Venue

Villa Rocca 1914, Puglia

Villa Rocca 1914 sits on top of a hill outside Ostuni, with the Puglian countryside falling away on every side. The house dates from the early nineteen hundreds and was restored in 2024 using Apulian materials and craftsmanship, so it has the character of the original building with none of the compromises of an old house.

The grounds run to eleven thousand square metres of terraced garden, planted with more than a hundred ancient olive trees alongside almonds, pomegranates and beds of sage, rosemary and lavender. At the very top sit an infinity pool, a hot tub and a sauna, which is where most guests end up at some point over the weekend.

This wedding venue suits couples who want something intimate done extremely well rather than something large. It takes 80 guests, sleeps 18, and is available on a minimum four-night exclusive stay, so the wedding becomes the centre of a long weekend rather than the whole of it.

The estate

The spaces

The Gardens

Ceremonies take place in the terraced gardens among the olive trees, with the countryside spread out below and no other building in sight.

The Terrace

Aperitivo after the ceremony, looking out over the valley as the afternoon light starts to go. This is the view people remember.

Dinner Outdoors

Long tables under the Puglian sky, with the landscape changing behind you from golden hour through to full dark.

The Hilltop

An infinity pool, a hot tub and a sauna at the highest point of the garden, for the days either side of the wedding.

The Villa

Nine bedrooms restored in 2024 with Apulian materials, deep colours and good fabrics, sleeping 18 of your closest people.

The Fire Pit

For the last hour of the night, or the evening before, when everyone has arrived and nobody quite wants to go to bed.

Where to stay

Staying at Villa Rocca 1914

The villa sleeps 18 across nine bedrooms, all restored in 2024. Exclusive use runs to a minimum of four nights, so your closest family and friends are there for the whole weekend rather than arriving for the day.

The rooms are furnished in earthy tones with Apulian materials, good fabrics and the kind of finish that makes a restored farmhouse feel like a private home rather than a hotel.

Because the villa only sleeps 18, the wider guest list stays nearby. Ostuni is a few minutes away and has plenty of options, from masserie to town apartments, and the coast is a short drive. We hold room blocks and arrange transfers so nobody is driving after dinner.

  • On site: 9 bedrooms sleeping up to 18, with a bridal suite
  • Nearby: Ostuni and the surrounding countryside for the rest of your guests, a few minutes away

Villa Rocca is an intimate property rather than a large one. If most of your party needs to sleep on site, it is worth telling us early so we can suggest alternatives alongside it.

Our take

Why we love
Villa Rocca 1914

It is a small venue that does everything properly, and the hilltop setting gives you a view that no amount of styling could buy.

  • Panoramic countryside on every side, with no neighbours in view
  • Restored in 2024, so the house works as well as it looks
  • An infinity pool, hot tub and sauna at the top of the garden
  • Four nights minimum, which makes it a weekend rather than a day
  • Forty-five minutes from Brindisi, so guests are not travelling all day

Good to know

Common questions about Villa Rocca 1914

How many guests can Villa Rocca 1914 hold?

+

Up to 80 for the ceremony and reception. Eighteen of those can stay on site across the nine bedrooms, with the rest in Ostuni and the surrounding countryside a few minutes away. It is an intimate venue by design rather than a large one.

Do we get the whole villa to ourselves?

+

Yes. Villa Rocca is taken on an exclusive-use basis with a minimum four-night stay, so the house, the gardens, the pool and the sauna are yours throughout. Nobody else is on the property.

Why is the minimum stay four nights?

+

Because the estate is built around the weekend rather than the day. Four nights gives you an evening to gather, the day itself, and time afterwards, which is what most couples say they remember. It also means your eighteen closest people are together for the whole of it.

What does a wedding here cost?

+

As a guide, couples typically invest between €30,000 and €55,000 for 25 to 50 guests, and between €55,000 and €70,000 for up to 80. Those figures include four nights' accommodation for eighteen guests. Accommodation alone runs from €2,000 a night in low season to around €4,500 at peak, between May and September.

Can we choose our own suppliers?

+

The villa works with a curated list of local suppliers who know the estate, and there is flexibility within that. Alcohol can be brought in with no corkage charge. Speak to us before you commit to anything, because supplier arrangements are one of the things worth checking carefully at any exclusive-use property.

What happens if it rains?

+

The celebration is largely outdoors, so contingency is worth planning early. It is one of the first things we would discuss with you, along with which months carry the least risk.

How far is the airport?

+

Brindisi is about 40 to 50 minutes away, roughly 48 kilometres. It takes direct flights from the UK and across Europe, so guests are not spending a whole day travelling. Bari is the other option, a little further out.

What is there to do nearby?

+

Ostuni, the white city on the hill, is minutes away, and the Valle d'Itria with its trulli towns is a short drive. The Adriatic coast is close enough for an afternoon, and the estate itself has the pool, the sauna and a hundred olive trees to wander among.

When is the best time of year?

+

May, June, September and early October. The gardens are at their best, the evenings are warm enough to eat outside, and you avoid the worst of the July and August heat. Peak accommodation rates run May to September.

Can you plan our wedding at Villa Rocca 1914?

+

Get in touch and we will talk it through. The villa offers its own in-house coordination, and we would want to confirm exactly how that sits alongside an independent planner before you book, so that you are clear on who is doing what. We plan and coordinate weddings across Puglia and the rest of Italy.
