Wedding Flowers & Florists

Bouquets, ceremony arches, table flowers and hanging installations, designed for your venue, your season and your style.

Wedding flowers

Wedding florists who know your venue and your season

Flowers do more to set the mood of a wedding than almost anything else. A bouquet that suits the dress, an arch that frames the view, tables that feel generous rather than sparse: get them right and every photograph looks considered. Get them wrong and the venue you fell in love with looks bare.

The best wedding flowers are designed for the place and the season, not copied from a picture. We match you with florists who know your venue, what grows locally at the time of your wedding and which flowers will still look fresh at ten o'clock on a warm evening. Then we make sure every arrangement arrives, is set up and moves to where it is needed next.

We arrange florists for wedding venues in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Italy and beyond. Browse our wedding venues, or see how flowers come together with styling in our boho wedding and rustic wedding guides.

Seasons vary between the UK and southern Europe, so your florist will confirm what is at its best for your date and location.

Bring us a picture you love, then let the florist tell you what is in season. The result is nearly always better, and often cheaper, than copying it stem for stem.

Summer weddings

Keeping wedding flowers fresh in the heat

A summer wedding in southern Europe is hard on flowers. Delicate blooms that last all day in an English marquee can wilt within an hour on a sunny terrace, and a bouquet left in a hot car will not recover.

Florists who work in this climate every week plan for it. They choose hardier flowers, set up as late as possible, keep everything in water and shade until the last moment, and mix fresh stems with dried and preserved flowers that will not droop.

Heat-hardy flowers

Roses, orchids, chrysanthemums, bougainvillea and greenery cope far better than peonies or sweet peas.

Late set-up

Ceremony flowers placed as close to the start as possible, out of direct sun.

Water & shade

Bouquets kept in water and in the shade until the last moment before the aisle.

Dried & preserved

Pampas, dried palm and preserved flowers add texture and never wilt.

Good to know

Wedding flower questions

What does a wedding florist do?

+

A wedding florist designs and makes all the flowers for your day, from the bridal bouquet and buttonholes to ceremony arches, table centrepieces and installations. They deliver, set up and often move arrangements between the ceremony and reception, then clear away at the end.

How far in advance should we book a wedding florist?

+

Six to twelve months ahead is ideal, and earlier for popular dates from May to September. Final designs and numbers are usually confirmed a few weeks before the wedding.

How much do wedding flowers cost?

+

It depends on the number of tables, the ceremony set-up and any installations. As a guide, UK couples spend around £1,187 on flowers, and in Spain the bridal bouquet and flowers average around €950. Larger designs in Italy or Greece often start from €6,000 for 50 guests.

Which wedding flowers last best in hot weather?

+

Roses, orchids, chrysanthemums, bougainvillea, hydrangeas kept in water, and greenery such as olive and eucalyptus all cope well. Dried and preserved flowers such as pampas never wilt. Delicate peonies and sweet peas struggle in the heat.

Can we reuse our ceremony flowers at the reception?

+

Yes, and it is one of the best ways to make your flower budget go further. Aisle arrangements can become table flowers, and an arch can frame the top table or the cake. We plan the move so it happens while guests are at the drinks reception.

Can we bring our own florist to a wedding abroad?

+

Sometimes, but a local florist is usually better value and knows what is in season, where to buy and how flowers behave in the climate. Some venues also have preferred florists, so we check the rules first.

Are dried flowers a good choice for a wedding?

+

Yes, especially for summer and boho weddings. Pampas, dried palm and preserved flowers add texture, look beautiful in photographs and will not wilt in the heat. Many couples mix them with fresh flowers.

What flowers are in season for a summer wedding?

+

Garden roses, hydrangeas, lavender, sunflowers, delphiniums and, in southern Europe, bougainvillea are all at their best in summer. Peonies are at their peak in early summer, so book them for May or June.
