Tenuta Negroamaro
Tenuta Negroamaro, Puglia
Tenuta Negroamaro sits on the Ionian side of the Salento, seven hectares of olive groves and quiet pine wood about four kilometres inland from Gallipoli. It is off the main routes, which is rather the point: there are beaches to the north and south, but the estate itself is still, green and entirely private.
The villa is taken on an exclusive-use basis and the celebration moves through the grounds as the day goes on. Ceremonies happen beneath the trees, drinks follow in the gardens, and dinner and dancing carry on under the southern sky with no curfew to bring things to a close.
It runs as a small hotel as well as a wedding venue, which matters more than it sounds. There is a kitchen working with what comes out of the ground and the sea nearby, yoga at dawn if anybody wants it, and the kind of unhurried days that turn a wedding weekend into something people actually rest during.
This wedding venue suits couples who want the weekend rather than the day. Bookings run to a minimum of three nights, which turns the wedding into a proper gathering: long lunches, local wine, late conversations and a slower pace than a single afternoon allows.
The spaces
Beneath the Olives
Ceremonies take place under the trees, with the grove doing the decorating. Shaded, quiet and unmistakably Puglian.
The Gardens
Where drinks and canapés happen after the ceremony, with room for guests to spread out across the grounds.
Dinner Under the Sky
Long tables outdoors for the wedding breakfast, with the estate's own wine on them and no closing time to work around.
The Pool & Grounds
Seven hectares of olive groves and pine wood, with a pool at the centre of it, for the days either side of the wedding.
The Villa
Ten double suites and the shared rooms of the house, where your closest family and friends stay for the whole weekend.
The Cellar
Negroamaro is the grape this part of Puglia is named for, and a private tasting before your guests arrive is the way to begin the weekend.

Staying at Tenuta Negroamaro
The villa sleeps 23 across 10 double suites, with extra beds in three of the rooms, so your closest family and friends stay on the estate for the whole three nights. Breakfast is included every morning.
Exclusive use runs to a minimum of three nights, and the estate is built around that: this is a weekend, not an afternoon.
One of the rooms is equipped for guests with reduced mobility, and every space on the estate is accessible. A private chef can cook for meals taken at the villa, which is how most parties handle the welcome dinner and the morning after.
- On site: 10 double suites sleeping 23, with additional beds in three rooms
- Nearby: plenty of hotels and villas within 10 to 15 minutes for the wider guest list, and we arrange transfers
Gallipoli is four kilometres away and has hotels and apartments at every level, so a larger guest list is straightforward. We hold room blocks and arrange transport to and from the estate.

What our couples say about Tenuta Negroamaro
We used Swish Soirées for both venue sourcing and full wedding planning. Vivian introduced us to Tenuta Negroamaro after listening to our slightly contradictory brief: somewhere stylish but informal, private but not isolated, and large enough for 68 guests without feeling like a traditional hotel. Somehow it fitted everything. Having our immediate families staying at the tenuta made the celebration feel incredibly personal. The ceremony in the grounds was beautiful, dinner continued long after sunset, and the following morning everyone gathered by the pool for a relaxed breakfast.
Miriam suggested Tenuta Negroamaro during our venue search, and it was the first place that felt completely right. Beautiful, private and relaxed, with enough character that we barely needed to add anything.
We had already chosen Tenuta Negroamaro, but we needed someone to bring the rest of the wedding together. Vicky took over the planning schedule, contacted suppliers and helped us make decisions without making the process feel rushed. There were lots of details we had never considered, particularly transport, timings and where guests would stay, but everything was dealt with calmly. By the time we arrived in Puglia, we felt excited rather than stressed.
We chose Tenuta Negroamaro as soon as we saw it, and it was every bit as beautiful in person as it looked in the photos. Planning everything from England felt daunting at first, but Wes made the whole process feel easy. He worked closely with the venue team and every supplier, kept us updated throughout and made sure everything happened exactly as planned. Our guests loved the venue, the food was incredible and the whole day flowed effortlessly.
We booked a venue tour with Wes because choosing somewhere in Puglia from photographs felt like too much of a gamble. Tenuta Negroamaro was our final viewing, and within half an hour we knew we had found our wedding venue. The gardens were even more beautiful in person, the accommodation meant our closest family could stay with us, and the exclusive-use arrangement gave the whole weekend a very private feel. Wes also helped us ask the practical questions about catering, transport and the wet-weather option before we committed.
Common questions about Tenuta Negroamaro
Do we get the whole estate to ourselves?
+
Yes. Tenuta Negroamaro is taken on an exclusive-use basis with a minimum three-night stay, so the villa, the ten suites, the pool and all seven hectares of grounds are yours throughout. There is no other party running alongside yours.
How many guests can Tenuta Negroamaro hold?
+
Up to 80 for the wedding itself, and the same figure applies to pre and post-wedding events on the estate. Twenty-three of those guests can stay on site across the ten double suites, with the rest in Gallipoli and the surrounding area, ten to fifteen minutes away.
Can we legally marry there?
+
Civil ceremonies can be held on site. There are also churches in the old town of Gallipoli and in the towns nearby if you would prefer a religious ceremony. Marrying in Italy as a foreign couple involves paperwork that varies with nationality, and we go through it with you well ahead of the date.
Why is a wedding planner mandatory here?
+
The estate requires couples to appoint a professional planner before it will confirm a booking. It is not unusual at exclusive-use properties, and the reasoning is sound: the venue provides the setting and the rooms rather than a full events team, so somebody has to run the weekend. That is exactly what we do, and we work with venues like this regularly.
What is included in the price?
+
The nightly rate covers exclusive use of all ten double rooms with breakfast, and runs from €4,500 in May and October to €6,000 in July and August. On top of that sit the venue fees: €4,500 for the main wedding day in May and October, €5,000 from June to September, plus €2,000 to €3,000 a day for pre or post-wedding events. All figures include VAT. Catering is separate, and a 50% non-refundable deposit secures the date.
Who caters the wedding?
+
You bring your own. The estate runs an open supplier policy with no corkage charge, so you are free to choose your caterer, florist, photographer and musicians. We source and manage the whole team for couples who would rather not do it themselves.
What happens if it rains?
+
The estate is predominantly outdoors, so a marquee can be hired in as a contingency. It is one of the first things we discuss with couples marrying here, and one of the reasons the shoulder months are worth considering.
When is the venue open?
+
April to October. May and October are the best value and comfortably warm, June and September are the sweet spot, and July and August are hot and at peak rates. The Salento coast is also busiest in high summer.
How far is the airport?
+
Brindisi is about an hour away by road, and Bari roughly two. Both take direct flights from the UK and across Europe. Gallipoli and the coast are four kilometres from the gate.
Can you plan our wedding at Tenuta Negroamaro?
+
Yes, and the estate requires that somebody does. We plan and coordinate weddings across Puglia and the rest of Italy, handling the suppliers, the timeline, the paperwork and the running of the weekend itself. Get in touch and we will talk you through how it works.
