Costa del Sol weddings

Your Costa del Sol wedding, beautifully planned

The Costa del Sol is Spain's celebrated sunshine coast, around 150 kilometres of Mediterranean shoreline in the province of Málaga, and it is where our team is based. With more than 325 days of sun a year, it offers everything from glamorous beach clubs and five-star resorts to private villas, hillside haciendas and golf estates, all within easy reach of Málaga Airport.

From the glamour of Marbella and Puerto Banús to the charm of Estepona and the hills of Mijas, we help you find and secure the perfect venue and take care of every detail.

Timing

Best time of year and day to marry on the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol has one of the longest wedding seasons in Europe, running from April to October. Late spring and early autumn are the sweet spot, with warm, sunny days and none of the peak-summer heat. Here are the average daytime highs across the season.

Our couples' favourite months. July and August are glorious but hot, so we plan plenty of shade and evening celebrations.

The best time of day

Under the Andalusian sun, timing matters. In high summer the sun is at its fiercest from around 1pm to 4pm, so a midday ceremony in an open, shadeless spot can be uncomfortable for you and your guests.

We usually plan the ceremony for the late afternoon, when the heat softens and the light turns golden, then let the celebration flow naturally into the evening. The best venues book up early too, so we recommend starting to plan twelve to eighteen months ahead where you can.

  • 5:30pm
    Ceremony

Softer light and cooler air as the fierce midday sun begins to drop.

  • 6:30pm
    Drinks & canapés

Golden-hour photographs while your guests relax and mingle.

  • 8:00pm
    Dinner at sunset

Al fresco dining as the sky turns pink over the sea.

  • 10:00pm
    Dancing under the stars

The party comes alive in the cool of the evening.

Budget

How much does a Costa del Sol wedding cost?

It depends on your guest numbers, your choice of venue and the style of celebration, and we plan across a wide range of budgets. As a broad guide, venue hire on the Costa del Sol typically ranges from around €6,000 to €10,000 for the day, with a full wedding for roughly 100 guests often falling between €28,000 and €35,000.

Kind words

What our Costa del Sol couples say

★★★★★

Planning our wedding from England could have been stressful, but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences. Every recommendation was spot on, communication was brilliant, and on the day everything came together perfectly. We couldn't have wished for a better team to create our dream wedding in Marbella.

★★★★★

From our very first conversation, we knew we'd made the right choice. Every step was straightforward and we always felt listened to. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every venue and supplier suited exactly what we wanted. Our wedding in Mijas exceeded every expectation, and our guests are still talking about it months later.

★★★★★

We had planned most of our wedding ourselves but wanted someone to take over on the day so we could enjoy it with family and friends. It was the best decision we made. Everything ran exactly as planned, every supplier arrived on time and the whole day flowed effortlessly in Estepona.

Common questions

Costa del Sol wedding FAQs

What is the most popular place to get married on the Costa del Sol?

+

Marbella is comfortably the most popular, thanks to its glamorous villas, beach clubs and five-star hotels, with Puerto Banús nearby. Estepona, Mijas, Benalmádena and Fuengirola are also much loved, each with its own character.

Can we get married on the beach on the Costa del Sol?

+

Yes. The coast has beautiful beaches and stylish beach clubs in Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola and beyond, ideal for barefoot ceremonies and seafront receptions. We handle any permits and match the beach to the look and privacy you want.

Which areas have both sea and mountain views?

+

The hillside settings above the coast are perfect for this. Mijas, the hills behind Marbella and parts of Benalmádena offer fincas and haciendas where you can have the Mediterranean and the mountains in a single frame.

How far are the venues from Málaga Airport?

+

Wonderfully close. Málaga Airport sits right on the coast, so most Costa del Sol venues are within about twenty to fifty minutes, making travel easy for you and your guests.

When is the best time to get married on the Costa del Sol?

+

Late spring and early autumn are ideal, with warm, sunny days without the peak-summer heat. The season runs from April to October, and we plan around your date and help you choose the right time of day.

Do you cover the whole Costa del Sol?

+

Yes. As a Marbella-based team, we plan weddings right along the coast, from Manilva and Estepona in the west through Marbella, Mijas and Fuengirola to Benalmádena and beyond.

What day trips would you recommend for guests?

+

Some of our favourites are the vibrant city of Málaga, the clifftop town of Ronda, the whitewashed village of Frigiliana and the Nerja Caves to the east, and Gibraltar to the west. For those staying longer, Granada and the Alhambra make an unforgettable day out.

Can you arrange activities or excursions for our group?

+

Absolutely. We can organise anything from welcome dinners and beach days to boat trips, golf, wine tasting and guided tours, so your guests have a wonderful time around the wedding itself.

How far in advance should we book?

+

We recommend twelve to eighteen months ahead where you can, especially for weekend dates in peak season, as the best venues and suppliers book up early. We also plan beautiful weddings on shorter timelines.

Can you plan our wedding if we live in the UK or Ireland?

+

Absolutely, and most of our couples do exactly that. We handle everything on the ground, arrange virtual and in-person viewings, and keep you updated at every step.

Do you help with the legal paperwork and translations?

+

Yes. We guide you through the options, help you gather and translate the right documents, and connect you with celebrants and officiants we trust. As requirements can change, we always confirm the current rules with the local authorities.

What exactly do you look after on the day?

+

Everything. We run the schedule, coordinate every supplier, manage the timings and quietly handle anything that comes up, so you and your guests can simply relax and enjoy the celebration.
