Masseria Alchimia
Masseria Alchimia, Puglia
Masseria Alchimia is an antico casale at Savelletri di Fasano, set in a garden of centuries-old olive trees a few minutes from the Adriatic. From the outside it is unmistakably Puglian: white stone, low arches, the agricultural bones of the building left where they were. Step inside and it turns contemporary, furnished with design pieces, art and photography set against one-off antiques.
The appeal for a wedding is that it is really three settings in one. The shaded garden among the olive trees takes the ceremony and the aperitif. The piazza, the masseria's own courtyard, takes dinner and dancing under the stars. And beneath it all is the grotto, an underground olive mill cut into the rock, where the party carries on with no curfew at all.
This wedding venue takes up to 200 guests, which is the largest of the Puglian venues we work with, but the way the spaces are arranged means it never feels like a big room with a lot of people in it. There are three suites and four rooms on site sleeping 20, with bed and breakfasts within walking distance for another 75.
The spaces
The Garden
Shaded by olive trees, and the setting for civil and symbolic ceremonies as well as the welcome aperitif. Intimate rather than grand.
The Piazza
The masseria's own courtyard, ringed by white stone and centuries-old olives, where dinner and dancing happen beneath the sky.
The Grotto
An underground cave that was once the olive mill, now the after-party. Cool in August, atmospheric in every month, and no curfew down there.
The Terrace
The panoramic point of the estate, usually where the cake is cut or where drinks are served while the light goes.
The Canyon
An ancient Apulian lama, a shallow ravine running through the olive grove, which makes an unusual and rather beautiful ceremony setting.
The Marquee
A 300 square metre marquee with a wooden floor and dimmable fairy lights, included in the rate as the wet-weather plan rather than charged as an extra.

Staying at Masseria Alchimia
Three suites and four rooms on site sleep 20, furnished with design pieces and original artwork. Unusually, there are bed and breakfasts within walking distance that can take another 75 guests, so a large party can stay together without anyone needing to drive.
That walking-distance accommodation is worth understanding, because it changes what is possible here.
At most exclusive-use venues, a guest list beyond the on-site rooms means taxis, transfers and an early end to the evening. Here, a further 75 people can stay near enough to walk home, which is why the masseria handles larger weddings comfortably while still feeling private. Beyond that, Fasano and the surrounding countryside have villas and hotels at every level.
- On site: 3 suites and 4 rooms, sleeping up to 20
- Walking distance: bed and breakfasts for up to 75 more guests
- Sister properties: the Alchimia Collection runs five more houses nearby, from trulli in the Selva di Fasano to a palazzo in the town
We hold room blocks across the nearby properties and coordinate arrivals, so your guests are placed sensibly rather than scattered.
What a wedding here costs
Masseria Alchimia is quoted as a package rather than as hire alone, and it starts lower than most exclusive-use venues in Puglia. The estate sends a questionnaire, then builds a personalised all-inclusive proposal with a full budget breakdown, usually within three working days.
What the package includes
| Included | Detail |
|---|---|
| Venue and ceremony location | Rental fee for the settings you choose |
| Accommodation | 2 nights on site, 4 double rooms and 3 suites, sleeping 20 |
| Wet-weather plan | 300 m² marquee, wooden floor, dimmable fairy lights |
| After party | The grotto, the former olive mill, with no curfew |
| Suppliers | The estate's own list of trusted local suppliers |
Catering and bar are booked from the recommended supplier list and quoted separately. Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted here.

Masseria Alchimia
It is the most flexible venue we work with in Puglia: three settings, the largest capacity, a wet-weather plan included, and no closed season.
- Licensed for civil ceremonies, so you can marry here for real
- Ceremony, dinner and dancing each in a completely different setting
- An underground grotto where the music can run as late as you like
- The marquee is included rather than an anxious extra cost
- 75 guests can stay within walking distance, which very few venues offer

Common questions about Masseria Alchimia
How many guests can Masseria Alchimia hold?
+
Up to 200, which makes it the largest of the Puglian venues we work with. The included wet-weather marquee covers up to 100, and the grotto seats up to 125 indoors, so for a larger party in uncertain weather an additional tent is hired at extra cost. Worth planning for rather than discovering later.
Can we legally marry there?
+
Yes. The masseria holds a licence for civil marriage ceremonies on site, so you can marry here for real rather than holding a symbolic blessing and doing the legal part at home. Symbolic ceremonies are equally welcome. There is paperwork involved for foreign couples marrying in Italy, and we handle it with you.
What happens if it rains?
+
Better provision than most. A 300 square metre marquee with a wooden floor and dimmable fairy lights is included in the rate rather than charged as an extra, and the grotto gives you an indoor setting for up to 125. It is one of the few venues where the wet-weather plan is genuinely part of the offer.
What is the grotto?
+
An underground cave beneath the masseria that was originally the olive mill. It is now where the after-party happens, and because it is below ground the music can run late without troubling anybody. It is also blessedly cool in July and August.
Is there a music curfew?
+
Outdoors, music is permitted until midnight, after which the celebration moves inside to the grotto and carries on. The estate will also support late licence applications. In practice it means the party does not have to end at midnight, it just changes rooms.
Where do our guests stay?
+
Three suites and four rooms on site sleep 20, and there are bed and breakfasts within walking distance for up to 75 more. That is unusual and genuinely useful, because it means a large guest list can stay together without transfers at the end of the night.
Can we choose our own caterer and suppliers?
+
Catering and bar are booked from the estate's recommended supplier list, which is a requirement rather than a suggestion, though there is flexibility within it. Other suppliers are your choice. Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted here, unlike some Puglian venues.
Do you host Indian or Jewish weddings?
+
Yes. The masseria has experience of multi-day and multi-faith celebrations, with space in the piazza and the olive grove for a Baraat procession or a chuppah. If you are planning a celebration over several days, this is one of the venues in Puglia best set up for it.
When is it open?
+
Year round, which sets it apart from most Puglian venues, many of which run April to October. The grotto and the marquee mean a winter wedding here is a genuine option rather than a compromise.
How far is the airport?
+
Brindisi is 36 minutes by car, about 58 kilometres. Bari is around 56 kilometres and under an hour. Both take direct flights from the UK and across Europe.
