Wedding Venues Mijas
Wedding venues in Mijas, from the white village in the hills to the beaches of Mijas Costa below it.
Bring more joy and laughter to your special event with Swish Soirées. Let's make every moment unforgettable.
Why get married in Mijas?
Mijas gives you two very different weddings: a white village four hundred metres up with views to Africa, or the beaches and beach clubs of Mijas Costa below it.
- Mijas Pueblo is several degrees cooler than the coast in high summer
- Views down the coast and across to the Rif mountains on a clear day
- Mijas Costa and La Cala give you beach access and walkable hotels
- Half an hour from Málaga airport, one of the easiest transfers on the coast
- Fuengirola station is ten minutes away with direct trains to the airport
- Ceremony in the village and reception by the sea is entirely workable
Wedding Venues in Mijas
Mijas is really two places, and which one you choose changes your wedding completely. Mijas Pueblo sits about four hundred metres up in the hills, a whitewashed village of narrow lanes and viewpoints looking straight down the coast. Mijas Costa is the stretch of beach and resort below, including La Cala.
Both are around half an hour from Málaga airport, which makes Mijas one of the easiest places on this coast for guests to reach.
The village or the coast
Mijas Pueblo gives you the Andalusian postcard: white walls, geraniums, cobbled streets and views that on a clear day reach across to the Rif mountains in Morocco. It is noticeably cooler than the coast in summer, sometimes by four or five degrees, which is a real advantage in July and August.
Mijas Costa and La Cala give you the sea, beach clubs, and hotels within walking distance of the venue. Easier for older guests and for anyone who wants to swim between the ceremony and dinner.
Getting here
Málaga airport is around thirty minutes to Mijas Costa and thirty five to forty to the village. Fuengirola, the nearest train station on the coastal line, is ten minutes from Mijas Costa and connects directly to the airport, which is genuinely useful for guests arriving independently.
The road up to Mijas Pueblo is winding. Coaches manage it, but factor extra time and warn anyone prone to travel sickness.
When to marry here
The village is comfortable across a longer season than the coast, thanks to the altitude. May through October works well, and even April and November are viable for a daytime celebration.
On the coast, stick to May, June, September and early October unless you are planning an evening wedding, in which case high summer is fine provided the drinks reception is shaded.
Good to know
Parking in Mijas Pueblo is limited and the streets are narrow, so guest transport needs organising rather than leaving to chance.
Village venues often have stricter noise limits than coastal ones, because they sit among homes. Confirm the curfew before you book a band.
The altitude that keeps the village cool also makes evenings cooler than guests expect. Suggest a wrap or a jacket on the invitation for anything after October.

What our couples say
From the moment we found Swish Soirées, we knew we were in safe hands. Planning our wedding from Madrid while organising guests travelling from across Europe could have been overwhelming, but every step was handled with professionalism and genuine care. The venue looked even more beautiful than we imagined, and every supplier was exceptional. Our family still talks about how magical the whole day was. Thank you for making our dream wedding a reality.
We couldn't have asked for a better wedding planning experience. Every recommendation was perfect, communication was excellent and everything ran exactly as planned on the day. We were able to relax and enjoy every minute with our family and friends, knowing everything was being taken care of behind the scenes. It was simply unforgettable.
Our wedding on the Costa del Sol was everything we'd hoped it would be. Every little detail reflected us as a couple, and the whole day felt relaxed, elegant and full of joy. We never imagined planning a destination wedding could be so straightforward. The support we received throughout the process gave us complete confidence, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.
Choosing Swish Soirées was one of the best decisions we made. From helping us find the perfect venue to coordinating our suppliers and managing the wedding day itself, everything was organised so professionally. We didn't have to worry about a single thing, which meant we could simply enjoy every moment with the people we love. We would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in Spain.
Getting married in Spain had always been our dream, and it exceeded every expectation. The planning process was enjoyable from start to finish, and every question we had was answered quickly and honestly. The attention to detail was outstanding, and the entire celebration felt effortless. Our guests described it as the best wedding they'd ever attended, and we couldn't agree more.
We honestly couldn't have wished for a better experience. Planning a destination wedding from Ireland seemed like a challenge at first, but from our very first call we knew we had made the right choice. When the day arrived, everything was exactly as we'd imagined and the whole day flowed effortlessly. If you're thinking of getting married in Spain, we can't recommend this team highly enough.

Weddings in Mijas
Should we marry in Mijas Pueblo or Mijas Costa?
+
The village if you want the white-village setting, cooler air and dramatic views, and the coast if you want beach access, walkable hotels and an easier day for older guests. The village is around five degrees cooler in high summer, which is a genuine consideration for a July or August wedding.
How far is Mijas from Málaga airport?
+
Roughly thirty minutes to Mijas Costa and thirty five to forty to Mijas Pueblo. Fuengirola station is ten minutes from the coast and runs direct trains to the airport, which suits guests arriving separately.
Can coaches reach Mijas Pueblo?
+
Yes, though the road is winding and the village streets are narrow, with limited parking. We arrange transport and drop-off points in advance rather than leaving guests to find their own way up.
Is Mijas cooler than the coast?
+
Noticeably, yes. The village sits around four hundred metres up and is typically several degrees cooler than the beach, which makes it a sensible choice for a summer wedding where you want people outdoors during the day.
Can we have the ceremony in the village and the reception on the coast?
+
Yes, and a good number of our couples do exactly that. The two are around fifteen minutes apart, so it needs guest transport arranging but it is straightforward and gives you both settings in one day.
Is parking difficult in Mijas Pueblo?
+
Yes. The streets are narrow and parking is limited, so guest transport and drop-off points need agreeing in advance rather than left to the day.
Are village venues noisier or quieter for music?
+
Quieter. Village venues sit among homes and generally have stricter noise limits than the commercial venues on the coast, despite feeling more remote. Confirm your curfew before booking a band.
