La Farinera Sant Lluís, Empordà
La Farinera Sant Lluís is a restored flour mill at Pont de Molins, just outside Figueres in the Empordà, the green, rolling corner of Catalonia behind the Costa Brava. Built in 1913 in the modernist style and listed by the Catalan government, the brick mill tower stands in an estate of around 130 hectares, with two natural lakes, woodland of tall plane trees, gardens and terraces (Bodas.net).
It is one of the most romantic and versatile venues in Spain. You can say "I do" on a private wooden pier over the lake, or in a cathedral of trees in the forest, then dine under a marquee, beneath the trees or inside the mill itself. With room for up to 600 guests, about 64 beds on the estate and one wedding per day, it suits everything from a weekend for close family to a very large celebration.

Say "I do" on the lake pier
The private pier stretches out over one of the estate's two natural lakes, and it can be dressed however you like, from a floral arch to a simple sofa for two, with guests seated in curved rows on the lawn.
After the ceremony, drinks flow across the lawns towards the mill, and dinner can be in the forest, under a marquee or chandeliers, or inside the mill's banquet hall. Catering is by your own choice of external caterer, an on-site planner is included, and fireworks are allowed for a grand finale (Wedinspire).

Accommodation at La Farinera
The main building has 10 suites sleeping 24 guests, with beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and arched windows. On the same estate, the Masos Can Sot rural houses, with their own pool, sleep around 40 more, so about 64 guests can stay on site (Bodas.net). There is a minimum two-night stay. Other guests can stay in Figueres or on the Costa Brava, a short drive away.
What a wedding here costs
Venue hire at La Farinera Sant Lluís is listed from around €12,000 to €16,000 (Bodas.net), and Wedinspire lists it from £11,000 including accommodation.
